Tuesday Morning Sewing
The group is open to any women who are interested in sewing, quilting, knitting, or crocheting. The group meets from approximately 9-11 on Tuesday mornings. Each year they make a number of quilts for Lutheran World Relief. This past year they donated 50 quilts plus a number of lap robes and dog beds to local charities.
Bunco Belles
This is a group of 12 women who meet on the second Tuesday of each month to promote fellowship by playing an easy, fast paced dice game. There is a different hostess each month who provides snacks and prizes. The prizes are purchased with a $5.00 per person fee from the previous month. The hostess also selects a charity or cause that members donate to. Contact Patty Duffey at drduffey@aol.com for more information.
Awana
Awana stands for “Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15). Awana is a children’s ministry whose mission is to “reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world for God.” We will be starting two Awana clubs this year at St. Jacob. A Cubbies program will serve kids preschool age (3) to five. A Sparks program will serve kids kindergarten through second grade. Tentative dates include a registration night August 24 with the first meeting night September 4. Meetings will be held from 6:00-7:30. Contact Amanda Kerr at spkerrski@hotmail.com or 330-309-4453 for more information. Or click here.
Choir: Voices of Praise
The choir, under leadership of organist Margaret Reichenbach, performs an anthem during the service every Sunday with special music performed by soloists throughout the year and especially during the summer months. The choir meets every Wednesday night from September to May at 7:00 for practice. New musicians, vocal or instrumental, are always welcome. Contact Margaret for more information.
